Imizu Shrine is located in Takaoka Kojo Park in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture. It is the only "Meishin Taisha" in Etchu Province, and a prestigious shrine that has been revered since ancient times as the Ichinomiya (chief shrine) of the Etchu Sochinju (general guardian deity). Known as the guardian of the source of life and industry, as well as a god of matchmaking, it also attracts deep faith as a cleansing deity that governs "water."
