The back is lacquered in dark brown, with the artist's brand. The surface is painted with gofun (oyster shell pigment) and is authentically colored. It is important to faithfully reproduce the scratches and stains found on Noh masks, so the dirt and scratches are intentionally recreated. There is no brain bag or box, but it will be carefully packed and shipped.
