I purchased this guitar from a well-known musical instrument store about 8 years ago, but I haven't had much opportunity to play it, so it's been in storage. I will quote the description from the instrument store at the time of purchase below, but please be aware that the condition may have changed in the intervening 8 years. The pickguard is original, but I believe it has started to peel more than it did 8 years ago. The hard case is the one it came with at the time of purchase, and I don't think it's a Martin original. "A rare custom HD-28! This is a unique one with snowflake inlays on the fingerboard! The top is spruce. The grain is fine, and the top has a beautiful orange color. The back and sides are Indian rosewood. It's a beautiful wood with a stunning grain pattern. The headstock has a decal logo with a rosewood veneer. The original Grover tuners are in beautiful condition. The fingerboard and bridge are ebony. And this particular guitar has custom snowflake inlays on the fingerboard. Based on the HD-28, it features herringbone trim and scalloped bracing. The binding is not ivoroid, but regular white binding. The tuners, nut, frets, pickguard, bridge, bridge pins, and end pin are original. The saddle has been replaced. The pickguard is original, but it has been re-glued once and has warped slightly due to aging. The warping is only in a small area, so we have decided that replacing the pickguard is not yet necessary. Also, the neck has been oversprayed. The neck has been reset after it arrived at the store, so the playing condition is very good. There are scratches and many dents overall, but there are no particularly noticeable or unsightly marks. Nut width is 42.8mm. It has a slightly thick U-shaped neck. It has a sound with well-defined notes, characteristic of scalloped bracing, and the overtones are also brilliant. Because it's a 28, it doesn't have the flashy feel of a 40 series guitar, but it has a smooth and natural overtone feel. The power of the sound when strummed has a strong 70s feel, and the body resonates well. With scalloped bracing, the response is fast, so it may be easier to use for fingerpicking than a standard non-scalloped 28."
