This is a Japanese honeybee hive. It can also be used as a swarm trap. The photo shows it at an angle because it's placed on a slope, but it's actually level. Honey extraction residue for attracting bees is applied to the top screen. The size is 290mm square, with two tiers each 150mm high. It's handmade, so there are rough spots in various places.
