Born in New York, USA, and raised in California. Learned to snorkel at age 8 and held a camera for the first time at 14, when he saw a whale. In 1992, he released the video work "Talbot - Dolphin & Orca," which became a worldwide bestseller. He was in charge of filming the wild scenes for the hit movie "Free Willy," released in 1993. He conveys the charm of marine mammals through photographs and videos while also engaging in marine environmental conservation activities. He is considered one of the world's most beautiful whale photographers.
