This is a remnant of the lining (doura) from a disassembled kimono. The sleeves and collar have been removed, and the front and back panels, along with the overlapping front panels (okumi), remain connected and have not been untied. The collar stiffener was also made of the same fabric, so it is included. There are stains from snap fasteners near the shoulder cuts and on the collar, as well as traces of thread holes, so please consider this if you understand antique fabrics, scraps, and kimono remodeling. It was removed from an unused, fully-shibori kimono with the basting threads still attached, so I've done a rough inspection, but I believe it's a good quality material that's not too thin. The unevenness of the shibori from the outer fabric is present, but I think it can be removed with an iron. It's not pure white, but a slightly soft ivory, off-white fabric. Since it hasn't been dyed, it's easy to hand wash gently with a neutral detergent. I hope it can be used by those who want to try the goodness of silk. I think it can be used for various purposes such as handmade crafts, dyeing materials, cleaning tools, nightcaps, pillowcases, and body scrubbers.
