It does not have a "Otaiko" (drum knot). You wrap it from the front, cross it in the back, and tie it in the front, tucking the ends inside the obi. It's a great item for when you want to wear a kimono easily! If you wear a haori (outer kimono), the back won't be visible, so it looks like an obi even if you don't tie it securely. Since it doesn't have an Otaiko, it can look a bit flat. If this is a concern, you can use a "makura" (obi pillow) to give it a more traditional shape. There are two patterns in this set. The red one has a clear pattern and a pattern that appears at certain angles. It's not a very bold pattern. The blue one is scattered with roses all over. There is one stain, but it does not affect its use. The pattern is the same on both sides.
