Bidding is for the item only. ★ Toshimichi Okubo (September 26, 1830 - May 14, 1878) ★ A Japanese politician and samurai (former Satsuma clan retainer). His childhood name was Masakasa, his common names were Shosuke and Ichizo, his imina (personal name) was Toshisada, later Toshimichi, and his pseudonym was Koto. His court rank and decoration were posthumously Junior First Rank and Order of the First Class of the Order of the Rising Sun. He was one of the founding fathers of the Meiji Restoration, and along with Takamori Saigo and Takayoshi Kido, he was called one of the "Three Great Men of the Restoration," and was also one of the "Ten Great Men of the Restoration."
