A weathered, painted hinoki (Japanese cypress) board is used for the back. Slices of driftwood and gnarled driftwood are arranged in a balanced and unique way. The entire piece is coated with clear urethane varnish. Requires one AA battery. Uses a DIY clock kit. Silent type with no ticking second hand. Please set the time using the knob on the back. Moving the hands directly may cause malfunctions.
