This is a set of two retro and cute polka-dot yunomi (teacups) that were used in Showa-era ryokans (Japanese inns) and public halls. They have the "Kayama" backstamp, distinguishing them from similar polka-dot patterned imitations that were widely available at the time. They are believed to be from around the 1960s. These yunomi are handmade one by one. The shapes are slightly different, and the polka dots are distorted, giving them character. ⚠️ As these are used items, there are scratches and discoloration due to aging. ⚠️ As they are ceramics, there are also burn marks (kiln marks), scratches, unevenness, and uneven glaze from the manufacturing process. ⚠️ Please understand that there are areas like those shown in photos 4 and 5 before purchasing.
