【JEAN-LOUIS SCHERRER / Jean-Louis Scherrer】 Born in Lyon, France in 1935. He entered the Paris Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne. During his studies, his talent caught the eye of Christian Dior, and he was scouted and joined Dior's maison. From 1955 to 1957, he worked as an assistant designer at Dior's maison. At Dior's maison, he worked alongside Yves Saint Laurent. After Dior's death, he worked under Yves Saint Laurent for about two years, and then gained further experience under Louis Féraud for two years. In 1962, he established his own haute couture maison, "Jean-Louis Scherrer." He entered prêt-à-porter in 1978. In 1980, he received the Dé d'Or award. Jean-Louis Scherrer's designs are elegant, sophisticated, and possess a sense of sexiness, but are never vulgar, and are greatly influenced by ballet.
