This is a furo (portable brazier) used with a gotoku (tripod) to place a tetsubin (iron kettle) or yuwakashi (water boiler) on. It has a cord hole in the bottom, assuming an electric heater, but it is also possible to use charcoal by placing a board and adding ash.
