Bairei Dōsetsu 1640-1716 Born in Kojo District, Bizen (present-day Ogi City, Saga Prefecture). He entered the priesthood at the age of 17. In 1663, he became a disciple of Sokuhin Nyoitsu. After Sokuhin's death, he became a disciple of Ingen, and after Ingen's death, in 1673, he received Dharma transmission from Daibi Shōzen Zenji. Afterwards, he was asked to be the founder of over 20 temples in various locations. He was a monk of the Ōbaku school of Zen Buddhism.
