It was purchased at the "Hanjiro Mizuno Ceramics Exhibition" at Mitsukoshi. This is a red-painted flower pattern plate by Hanjiro Mizuno of Seto Hongyo Kiln, which conveys the tradition of Seto ware to the present day. The flower pattern, freely drawn on a white glazed base, has a vivid contrast of red and green, combining the splendor and warmth of Seto red painting. The brushwork is free and unrestrained, yet it is arranged in a refined design, making it a masterpiece that will delight the eye every time it is used. Seto Hongyo Kiln is a kiln that has continued since the Edo period, and has protected and passed down traditional red painting and sometsuke (blue and white porcelain) as its main work.
