【洞浄】Dojo As indicated by "Choyen" (Super Smoke), this ink is characterized by its extremely fine particles and excellent flow, even among rapeseed oil inks. The back features a painting of Bodhidharma, the Zen Buddhist monk, executed with a large brush, and is finished with gold leaf, making it a work of art. The gold leaf originally served to prevent cracks and splits caused by drying. This is a dried ink from several decades ago, so the glue has softened, making it ready to use, and the brushstrokes are lighter. Especially for kana (Japanese syllabary) and gyosho (semi-cursive script), flow and speed are crucial. Ink with a smooth, flowing quality allows for sharp, crisp writing. It is ideal for the flowing connections in kana calligraphy. This ink produces a glossy pure black when used in a concentrated form, and a slightly light brown shade when diluted. Being a very aged ink, it can be used for artwork regardless of whether it's kanji (Chinese characters) or kana. It's a great value at the list price of 9,450 yen (including tax).
