This item was at my parents' house and was often used by my grandmother in the Showa era when many people came over. It's for casual teas like roasted green tea (hojicha). I cleaned it with oxygen bleach. The wooden part of the handle is a little crumbly, but it has metal fittings, so I don't think it will come off suddenly.
