Samuel Alcock Trio (Cup & Saucer & Plate) A kiln started by Samuel Alcock in 1828 at Hill Napoli, Burslem, England. Ten years later, it had grown into a large factory employing 400 people. The Alcock kiln was unusual in the painting world of the time, which was dominated by men, as the ratio of men to women was 1:2.
