I bought this for practice, but I didn't actually need it, so I haven't used it. I used it once, so there might be a few minor scratches, but I think it's in very good condition. The guide part is made of lightweight and durable polycarbonate resin, weighing only about 67 grams (for 4/4 to 3/4 size). The guide has a rounded arch shape, so there's no discomfort when handling the bow, and it's transparent, so it doesn't feel out of place for the player's view. Also, the compact design allows for bowing practice very close to the end of the bow. The HorACE Bow Guide's edges, where the bow stick is likely to touch, are designed and manufactured to be rounded, so there's less worry about damaging the bow during bowing, which is one of the recommended points. The guide gently guides the bow to the correct angle. The mounting and fixing parts that touch the instrument are also minimal, so there is almost no adverse effect on suppressing the instrument's sound.
