A "Fruit" cup & saucer by Masons of England, hand-painted. The cup has a plump form with a wider base, holding more than it appears (approx. 200ml). The undulating handle and the freehand brushstrokes on the saucer's edge create a wonderful handmade feel. The leaves and fruits are slightly raised, giving a three-dimensional effect, with delicious-looking fruits like bright red cherries and purple akebia as accents within the deep green design. The item is 40-50 years old based on the backstamp, and the cup is in beautiful condition with little sign of use. The center of the saucer, where the cup sits, has minor scratches (see enlarged photo 6).
