80s Black Tag Eddie Bauer Cable knit made in the USA. Also known as Aran knit or fisherman's knit, this knit features a cream color and three-dimensional knit patterns. There are many knit patterns, but the cable and diamond patterns are characteristic. The cable pattern represents the ropes used by fishermen to pull their boats, and also symbolizes a lifeline, expressing a wish for safety. The diamond pattern represents the fisherman's basket being full, expressing a wish for success and a large catch. Eddie Bauer cable knits are rare, and especially the XL size is considered a rare size. It is a thick cable knit with considerable volume. There is a small hole on the front and sleeve (see photos 5 and 6). As this is a vintage knit, please understand that it is a used item.
