The lid has a red stamp that reads "Akama Gosuzuri, Shoryuzan Saku." Includes one piece of yellow cloth and a navy blue and white striped string. There are three shiori (bookmarks): [① Origin of the Famous Akama Suzuri] original edition [② Copy of the History of Akama Suzuri ③ Copy of "Taking, Digging, Polishing."] (223mm x 161mm x 66mm) [7] Condition: No noticeable scratches. It is in relatively good condition. [8] Shape: Sasatake (bamboo grass) raised carving, Noyamen-gata (field surface) inkstone. ◉ The Akama inkstone, with its unique reddish hue, is arguably the only one of its kind in Japan. It is characterized by its fine, hard, and dense stone quality, as well as its beautiful stone surface. ◯ This work fully utilizes the natural stone of Akama stone, with the edge raised about 2mm with sasatake (bamboo grass) and meticulously carved. The stone pattern features a fine mottled pattern of reddish-brown on a hill and sea background, with spots of pale green creating a calm atmosphere. Furthermore, the upper box of the paulownia wood tomobako displays the skillful, proud, soft, and flowing brushwork unique to the artisan. (A Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry designated traditional craft product seal is affixed to the upper right.) Because it was made by a traditional craftsman, it is a charming piece that can be used or admired as a work of art.
