~~ Artist Goro Kawamoto ~~~~ A Japanese ceramic artist from Seto City, Aichi Prefecture. He was known as one of the "Three Greats of Seto" along with Seisei Suzuki and Shunto Kato. In 1978, he was first selected for the Nitten (Japan Fine Arts Exhibition), and continued to exhibit. In 1984, he received the Chunichi Prize at the 2nd Shin-Nitten, and in 1987, he received the Special Selection and Hokuto Prize at the 5th Shin-Nitten. During that time, he received the Grand Prize at the Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition in 1978, the Grand Prix at the Brussels World Exposition in 1983, and the Grand Prix at the California International Exposition in 1984. He received high praise both domestically and internationally, and in 1988, he received the Minister of Education's Encouragement Award at the 1st Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition. After that, he continued to exhibit at exhibitions overseas, including the Contemporary Craft Art Overseas Exhibition, as well as in America, Germany, and Europe.
