This is a summer sha Hakata Kenjo 8-sun Nagoya obi (Matsuba tailoring) purchased in the 1980s. It has an all-over pink pattern and is a sheer obi unique to sha (see photo on page 2). I used to wear it with yukata. The pink color is closest to what is called "koubai-iro" (crimson plum color), but it's a subdued pink. I've used it several times, and there are signs of wear such as tightening marks, creases, and dullness. Also, the indigo dye from the yukata has left stains. Depending on how you make the otaiko (drum) part, the indigo dye might be slightly visible (see photo on page 3). As for the folds on the body part, I like to fold it a little wider, so the folds are wider. However, I think it's fine to adjust the wider folds to a narrower direction. I still think it can be used as an obi, but it can also be used for practicing kimono dressing or as a remake material for bags, etc. I will sell it to someone who understands that it is a used item.
