In the days when it was used as workwear for coal miners, the shirts were tucked into the pants, so the tail part is long so it wouldn't come untucked. As for the detailed dating, looking at the overall construction of the garment, it seems to be from around the 1950s, but looking at the collar and buttons, I feel it might be a little more recent. With famous brands like Five Brothers, it's obvious, but with minor manufacturers, I can't be certain. I don't think it's from the 80s with this design, so it's recommended for vintage lovers.
