Listed for sale to organize my collection. The mark on the foot rim is the character for "Tsutsue" (筒江) written in a stylized form within a double frame, and it was made at the Tsutsue kiln in Yamauchi-cho, Arita. This is a rare example of a piece marked with the kiln's name. It has a substantial weight in the hand. It's a so-called "Kurawanka-de" style, but I believe it's an old Imari plate of a higher grade, with its celadon blue and the quality of the firing. Diameter: Approximately 19 cm Height: Approximately 4 cm There is an extremely thin hairline crack on the rim, but I believe it is in generally good condition, with no cracks or chips.
