Purchased over 25 years ago from an antique shop in France. This is a very old, small brass kitchen tool, designed like a shallow saucepan. It was supposedly used for simmering or boiling something, and I was told it was a very rare item from the late 1800s. It was said to have been mainly used by pastry chefs, but this is unconfirmed. It has a thick, wooden handle made of hard wood, and is chic with thick brass. There are three small bumps on the bottom. It's surprisingly heavy for its size. There are various French kitchen tools, but this is certainly not one you see often. It seems like it could be used practically in a kitchen in Japan, depending on the idea. Of course, it would also look great as a decoration. The condition is as it was when purchased. It has been used by a French chef or pastry chef for a very long time, and as you can see in the photos, there is aging, dullness, and stains on the brass, but it has a great antique feel.
