This is a set of a necklace and earrings featuring marcasite. About 10 years ago, I fell in love with the cute pearl design of this antique set on a Yahoo auction and purchased it. I've only used it once, and I'm selling it to declutter. Marcasite is pyrite cut into six-sided shapes, and it began to be used as a substitute for diamonds in the 18th century. It is characterized by its unique metallic luster and is often used in antique jewelry. This set features Japanese Akoya pearls in the center of the necklace and earrings, surrounded by marcasite.
