Typically, Octa pants are either the Octa-exposed tights type or the type covered with a nylon shell like Arc'teryx's Proton Pants, but these Kinesis Base Pants only cover the area from the waist to the knees with a nylon shell, designed to withstand friction and block wind. They are very rationally designed for wearing inside hard shell pants in winter, for taking off the shell and wearing down pants, or for wearing alone after descending a mountain. The double-zipper fly and the shape that makes it easy to tuck the hem into boots are unique features that you won't find in other manufacturers, showcasing the ingenuity of an alpine gear maker. These are excellent pants, but they are a little too small for me at 183cm/77kg, so I am reluctantly selling them. I am hoping to find someone who has an XL and would be willing to trade.
