This is the most authentic model, and the most universal straight fit from RRL. While often compared to the 501XX, they are completely different. It's more of a modern, slightly slimmer regular straight fit. RRL, created by Ralph Lauren with a deep commitment to vintage, offers unique items, each one-of-a-kind, with collectors worldwide. This is a rare MADE IN USA denim from RRL. The 5-pocket STRAIGHT LEG is a classic and staple model in RRL denim. The biggest appeal is the use of Japanese selvedge denim. Selvedge denim is woven on old-fashioned shuttle looms, and is carefully woven by craftsmen who adjust the weaving speed and tension. Only about one bolt of fabric can be woven per day, which increases the cost. The selvedge denim features the characteristic "selvedge" edge to prevent fraying, and of course, it uses the "red ear" with red stitching! This pair is packed with details and Ralph Lauren's passion, typical of MADE IN USA craftsmanship. The whiskers and honeycombs are very beautiful, and it was one of my favorite pairs.
