When folded, it's still possible to sit backward or stand without any problems. There's a small gap between the seat and the backrest, but the 2-Seater next has a narrowed support for the lower belt attachment, making it difficult for the belt to slip. Therefore, I've never had a child's bottom fall through, even after long-term use.
