There are some pencil marks, or slight smudges, on the carving knives. It looks like the kind of dirt that might come off with an eraser. I was afraid of making it worse by erasing it, so I'm selling it as is. (Photos 4 & 5) The carving knife covers open and close properly! (Photos 4 & 5) I used this in elementary school classes. After that, I don't think I'll use it much! I highly recommend this to those who think buying a new one is a waste!! Thank you for looking.
