This item is a slightly large Japanese ceramic object, a decorative object of Kutani ware, which has a long history, featuring a lion riding a ball. Since ancient times, lions, like shachi and ogres, have been considered to ward off evil. As indicated by the underside of the feet, this item is not a new Kutani ware lion, so please understand that it is being sold as an antique. The size is relatively large, so it should be visually appealing as a decorative piece.
