Thank you for viewing. This is a wool Chester coat made by the American Woolen Company from the 1940s-50s. The wool fabric is exceptionally good. It's a dense, supple wool fabric similar to the fabric of a 1940s US Navy pea coat. With its outstanding long length, A-line silhouette, deep navy color, and double-breasted design, it's almost like a coat from a luxury brand. There are no moth-eaten spots on the outer fabric and no tears in the lining. All buttons are original. Tag is present. It's rare to find a coat of this age in this condition and size.
