Circa 1870. Baccarat's milky white glass is made of crystal glass called opaline crystal glass, named after the gemstone opal, and it creates a clean and beautiful whiteness that was not found in previous glass, making it a very luxurious and rare work. Rococo-style patterns are painted with gold and blue enamel. This is a hard-to-find work with an extremely limited number of existing pieces.
