This is a cocoon-style dress made from a single-layer kimono with a polite komon (small pattern) of dots, which was unpicked, washed, and ironed. It has a line that tapers towards the hem, resembling the shape of a cocoon. The black background with polka dots is both modern and cute, and I made it into a simple dress that makes the most of the pattern. The sides are open, so an inner layer is needed. Pockets are on both sides. The front and back are the same shape. In the coming season, even with an inner layer, it has some elasticity, so I think it will be easy to move in. The fabric is thick and feels rough to the touch. There are a few minor imperfections from when it was unpicked. Otherwise, I don't see any stains, but I may have overlooked something.
