From a young age, he was a bit clumsy and not good at studying, but he had an unwavering faith in God, more than anyone else. While often misunderstood by those around him, he always walked the path of prayer with humility and patience. Eventually welcomed into the Franciscan order, he often experienced "ecstasy enveloped in God's love" during deep prayer, and it is said that his body levitated along with the elevation of his heart. That event made a strong impression on those around him and was carefully investigated by the Church, but his pure faith and holiness were recognized as genuine. From this mysterious levitation, Saint Joseph became known as the patron saint of "flying people," that is, those in the aviation industry and astronauts. And, from his own experience of struggling with learning, he is also widely revered as the patron saint who supports "students preparing for exams," "people who have difficulty learning," and even "people with intellectual disabilities." The life of Saint Joseph teaches us that it is not the height of knowledge or ability that matters, but rather "how much we trust God with our hearts and love others." Even when we are stuck in our studies or in life, if we accumulate small prayers like him, God will surely guide us in unexpected ways... Saint Joseph continues to quietly convey such gentle hope even now.
