I'm slowly making and listing these as I don't have much time to make my own hives. I have been involved with Japanese honeybees for 22 years. Product Details Frame dimensions: 260 x 260, board thickness 30mm Easy to remove by removing the screws. The wood is cedar. The thick boards, dried in the shade for 5 years, provide good insulation inside the hive, and are favored by honeybees, which prefer old hives, making this hive different from others. The bottom section has a door and an easily removable bottom board for easy cleaning. While some hives use wire to prevent the comb from falling, this one uses bamboo or wooden rods. Experienced beekeepers have told me that wire comb supports are avoided by bees when choosing a hive. Please apply beeswax thoroughly before use. This hive has come this far thanks to the guidance of experienced beekeepers and my own experience. Production will be discontinued when the wood supply runs out. The price will increase for new stock due to rising wood prices. Thank you for your understanding. The wood supply is also running low. I was very happy to receive many reports last year that honeybees had moved in. I enjoy making these as a hobby, so the construction is not professional. The price barely covers shipping, fees, and material costs (especially the boards, which are expensive due to their thickness, and the rising price of wood). Therefore, I cannot offer a discount. I have 51 of these same hives myself, and as of Reiwa 7 (2025), 42 of them are occupied by natural Japanese honeybees. There may be some unclear parts in this short text, but I will include an explanation of how to set up the hive and the preferred location for the honeybees, based on my experience and what I have learned from experienced beekeepers.
