It has been guard-processed. The obi alone is a very fine item with a retail price of 298,000 yen. I think it's a great bargain, as it would normally be quite expensive to purchase. I purchased it because I liked it very much, but I haven't had many opportunities to wear it, and it's too good to just leave in the closet, so I'm offering it to someone who can use it. You can wear it with a variety of kimonos, such as formal visiting kimonos, formal kimonos with a crest, solid-colored kimonos, komon (casual patterned kimonos), Omeshi (silk crepe kimonos), Oshima Tsumugi, and Yuki Tsumugi, for a high-sense look. You can wear it for both fashionable and formal occasions. The tsukuri-obi processing uses Velcro and is done without cutting the obi, making it incredibly easy to put on. The size of the otaiko (the folded part of the obi) can be adjusted. Because the obi is processed without cutting it, it can be returned to a regular fukuro obi (formal obi) by undoing the processing. It can be worn by those with a waist circumference of approximately 70 cm, with an adjustment range of about 10 cm. The front width is about 17 cm. I had the unused fukuro obi processed, and it has been stored at home unused since the processing. The processing cost was 9,900 yen.
