Double Day's babouches, made in Morocco from authentic leather, feel great against the skin and are recommended for wearing barefoot. While polyester materials can get stuffy, genuine leather maintains moderate breathability, making it less likely to get stuffy. They are quite lightweight, so they seem like a good choice to bring to school parent-teacher conferences. And the fact that they are "Moroccan-made," the home of babouches, is an exciting and happy point. The leather is still stiff, so I'm hoping it will gradually and carefully mold to my feet.
