The film depicts a heroine who joins a funeral home and, along with her mentor, a funeral planner, strives for the "best funeral." Miku Shimizu, struggling with her job search, has a secret she can't tell anyone: she can "hear the voices of the deceased." She has a fateful encounter that changes her destiny. Reiji Urushihara, a funeral planner who notices her ability, invites her to become a funeral planner. As if guided by something, Miku becomes an intern at the funeral home "Bandokai Hall." Teaming up with Urushihara, she confronts the question of "What is a funeral that satisfies not only the bereaved but also the deceased?" through the funerals of various families, such as a husband who lost his pregnant wife and a couple who lost their young daughter. Eventually, Miku comes to admire Urushihara's attitude of being more sincere than anyone else in supporting the deceased and their bereaved families, and decides to become a funeral planner herself.
