These are five natural wood, lacquer-finished bowls with a beautiful gold maki-e design of the four seasons' flowers. When you flip the lid of what appears to be a plain black bowl, you'll be surprised by the gold maki-e that fills it with the flowers of the four seasons. Plum blossoms, daffodils, chrysanthemums, and camellias are depicted. They are a bit large, making them perfect for Ozoni (New Year's soup). They appear to be relatively new. They have a good weight and the wood is well-turned, indicating high versatility.
