This "Barbizon" series was designed in 1934 by Georges Chevalier, a famous Baccarat designer, inspired by the village of Barbizon near Fontainebleau, where pre-Impressionist painters gathered from 1825 to 1875. As a masterpiece of the Art Deco period, it features a highly transparent crystal made by blown glass, a short-cut stem, and a beautifully harmonized, rounded bowl, making for a very sophisticated design.
