Thank you for viewing. This is a Nagoya obi purchased from an antique kimono shop. It features a beige ground with a woven pattern, and the taiko (drum) and tare (tail) sections, as well as the front section, are decorated with ribbon embroidery of cherry blossoms, paulownia, and other plant motifs in the shape of a fan. I love collecting antique kimonos and obi, but I haven't had the opportunity to wear them, so I've decided to let this one go as part of a decluttering effort. ◆Condition There are no major, critical damages such as fraying or tears to the obi fabric. Some of the gold thread embroidery on the edge of the fan has come off since I purchased it, but I will sell it as is. There are stains and color transfer on the upper part of the taiko (which will be hidden when worn), and stains and dirt on the front obi section. The obi core is firm but soft, making it easy to tie.
