The matte black to dark brown clay body has a design of tortoise shell patterns in a subdued vermilion color on the upper part. The rounded shape is also lovely. There is a stamp, and it looks like "Heisei" (era name) can be read, but I am not certain, so please judge from the images. There is some minor dirt and scratches, but there are no chips, and I think it is in good condition overall as a used item.
