This is an old Imari ware plate with sometsuke (blue and white) decoration from the mid-Edo period. The surface features a banana plant motif and ancient characters, while the center of the plate displays a thunder pattern and banana plant motif, all painted with high-quality sometsuke. The reverse side is filled with a scrolling arabesque pattern, also in sometsuke. A ceramic mark from the mid-Edo period is present inside the foot ring. There is a small chip on the edge of the reverse side. The size is 26.5 cm in length and width, and 5.5 cm in height. It will be carefully packaged and shipped.
