Born in Imbe, Bizen City in 1941 as the eldest son of Touzai Fujiwara, known for his craftsmanship. Received instruction in craftsmanship from his father from 1965 and became independent in 1970. Member of the Japan Kogei Association in 1985. Built a kiln in Fukuda, Bizen City in 1986. In the same year, he created a seated statue of "Koumitsu Ikeda" at the request of the Kokuhou (National Treasure) Shizutani School. His craftsmanship includes the zodiac signs every year, as well as Hotei, Kannon statues, lions, gamecocks, Houbin, and incense burners. He is also skilled in wheel-thrown items, creating flower vases. He is the leading craftsman in the contemporary Bizen-yaki world. Held solo exhibitions at Tokyo Ginza Mitsukoshi, Shinjuku Isetan, and Tokiwa Oita.
