This is a Persian bird-motif lusterware plate. It dates from around the 5th century BC and, due to the relatively low firing temperature, has many cracks and is extensively repaired. Please refer to the photos. It has been pieced together in more than 10 places. The repairs appear to be mostly original, making it suitable for appreciation. For collectors of ancient Middle Eastern pottery.
