I believe the inside is coated, making it less likely to burn food. The heat source is unknown. It was stored unopened, but I opened it for the listing. There is an odor due to long-term storage. I wiped it with alcohol for the listing. The box also has an odor, so I will ship it in a recycled cardboard box. Thank you for looking. Please also read the profile page.
