This is a Nishijin-ori fukuro obi (formal obi). The black background features a classic kimono color scheme of deep red, off-white, and gold. It's a perfect match for Mamechiyo Modern's awase kimono "Crane" series and "Large Plum" designs. The advanced weaving techniques of Nishijin-ori are also a key feature. Within the flat-woven plum blossoms, the cranes are woven to appear three-dimensional, with their wings spread as if about to take flight, creating a sense of space. *The front obi design features only plum blossoms. Mamechiyo Modern original Nishijin-ori Nishijin-ori, produced in Kyoto, is a historical and luxurious silk fabric. The patterns are woven using pre-dyed threads, and each of the more than 20 processes is handled by specialized craftsmen.
