This is a Japanese-style tote bag featuring a patchwork design made from high-quality, unraveled vintage silk black formal kimono fabric (kuro-tomesode), showcasing vibrant floral patterns. This is a handmade piece by my mother. It's a patchwork design using a collection of brightly colored floral patterns, creating the image of flowers peeking through small windows. Oshima Tsumugi silk is used for the window frames, adding depth and dimension with its varying shades. The glossy, deep black beautifully complements the patterns of the kimono fabric, which are primarily red. The patchwork is applied to both sides of the bag, and it has been carefully and lovingly finished. An adhesive quilt batting is used, making it lightweight, soft, and durable. Please take a close look at each of the crepe patterns. The retro designs from the early Showa era and the uniquely colored fabrics, all of which were likely hand-dyed with care, are exceptionally beautiful and designed to be enjoyed. There is one inner pocket made of monotone cotton check fabric.
